WhatsApp is now considered one of the most used messaging apps alongside Facebook Messaging, Instagram chat and Twitter. The Meta-owned platform constantly updates WhatsApp security features and integrates new functionalities.
Smartphones which doesn’t meet the requirements of the new security updates and features will no longer support WhatsApp. To avoid losing important files and chats, backing up your chats should be necessary.
The Android smartphones’ minimum system requirements should be Android 5.0 and above while iPhone users’ requirement is iOS 12 or greater.
Meta-owned messaging platforms particularly target older phones which don’t meet the minimum system requirements.
Furthermore, Smartphones with older operating systems should consider upgrading to continue using WhatsApp for maximum security features and new functionalities.
