Nigerian Grammy award-winning music superstar, Damini Ogulu popularly known as Burna Boy has denied alleged speculation that he is involved with Nigerian politicians.
The ongoing #endbadgovernance in Nigeria has caused netizens to reaffirm their position that Burna Boy is in league with politicians, refusing to use his platform to speak against bad governance and corruption in the country.
The Nigerian singer-songwriter took to his X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday to debunk the ongoing speculations, reaffirming that he has never received any money from politicians.
He wrote, “No politician has ever given me anything, go ask Wike where the land him give me or which money him give me, you think am your faves”.
Recall, that in 2021 after Burna Boy won a Grammy award, the former governor of River State and Minister of FCT Abuja, Mr Nyesom Wike promised to give a plot of land alongside cash as a token of appreciation for winning the Grammy Awards.
Burna Boy visited the former Governor of River State Nyesom where he attributed the Burna Boy Grammy Award as “the pride of the state” urging to fulfil his promises.
However, the new development in the Nigerian end bad governance protest surface Burna Boy’s comment where he asked the netizens to confirm whether he received anything from Wike.
The general public believed that the FCT minister, Wike fulfilled his promises to the multi-award singer Burna Boy whereas the artist comment was totally interesting to learn what happened after the promises.
